I've always wanted a dog, and now I have a Border Collie mix who recently passed his service dog certification. Before that, I had a Hungarian Greyhound mix and a Doberman—all of them were adopted from shelters or rescued from the streets. Before getting my first pet, I actively helped out at shelters: I fostered dogs, walked them, groomed them, took them to the vet, and cleaned the premises. This experience taught me independence and responsibility. I’ve fostered dogs of various sizes and ages, including an Irish Wolfhound and a German Shepherd mix. My friend currently cares for about 15 dogs, and I help him out from time to time. I have a great understanding of dog body language and feel confident around them. Additionally, I have experience caring for sick animals: I know how to administer medication on time, treat wounds, and perform other medical procedures.
